Brett, Jennifer. "Feline-loving author plans book signing at cat shelter". The Atlanta Journal-Constitution . Retrieved March 7, 2019. The incredibly heartwarming nature of this true-life story makes A Street Cat Named Bob one of the best books about cats you can hope to find. Surprisingly though, Mountclemens offers Qwill an apartment to live in (for very low rent, no less) and assumes that he will have to cat sit for Mountclemens’ Siamese cat, Koko.

What alternate universe are these headlines from? This one, sort of. See, substitute the word ‘dog’ for ‘cat’ and tada! You get an actual headline written about cats. A book for people who love cats AND birds. It's really a guide to setting up window feeders and bird baths to attract birds to your windows, with the goal of providing hours of entertainment for your indoor kitties! It's a lovely little book. Then, find nonfiction and fiction books about cats and people who save each other from their current circumstances. The book does go on a bit at times, but that is perfectly in keeping with the central conceit of observing and annotating on the humans who surround the titular as yet unnamed cat. Best read in chunks rather than as one piece, the book cannot really be faulted in any way except for ending just when we want more. Forget plot, just enjoy the brilliant characterisation and playful use of vocabulary by the author and you can't go wrong. Having seen the cat in the same place a few nights in a row, and after asking the residents if the cat is theirs, he takes it to the local vet.Written under the regime of Stalin, author Mikhail Bulgakov’s social satire is widely regarded as one of the best novels of the 20th century, making it one of the most prestigious books with cats as the main characters on this list.

Homer's death on August 21, 2013, as well as the passing of Scarlett and Vashti, are also recounted. Although he usually writes about crime, prizewinning reporter James Qwilleran finds himself unexpectedly on the art team when he takes a new job at the newspaper, The Daily Fluxion. First published in German in 1956, this is the first scientific treatise on cat behavior. Delgado describes this as THE guide to the ethology of the cat, with a heavy emphasis on their predatory and social behaviors. I need to get my hands on this one. Delgado describes this book as, “A lovely little book for parents and kids to read together. It covers the development, socialization and training of cats, and broadly covers basic cat behavior. This book also guides parents through what responsibilities for cat care children can be responsible for, and how parents should supervise. Nice photos of body language and activities.” She describes these books as user-friendly and accurate in what they tell us about cat behavior. Enjoy her summaries of each book; I did!

Bad Blinitz already has a rat problem, and beneath that, an even greater issue – an unnamed evil presence that seems to be controlling everything … and getting stronger. Translated into English by Konstantine Matsoukas: Having spent six of his nine lives among a diverse series of owners and companions, protagonist cat Sugar Zach now uses part of his seventh life to recount his past experiences to the reader. What if cats are learning all the time? (They are). What if you could help cats learn things you wanted? (You can). What if training could enhance your relationship with your cat? (It can).

In turns humorous, literate and brilliantly ahead of it's time, the original Japanese is translated extremely well by the team and the humour and comical restraint of the Japanese original text is expertly done, nonchalantly doing the job of making a good book open to a deservedly wider audience. This book is a classic, user-friendly guide to cat care and behavior. It covers everything from setting up your home to be safe and fun for your cat to resolving common behavior issues (from the litterbox to furniture-scratching).
