About this deal

The nostalgic equivalent for me, being French, is Jean-Marie Farina and Bouquet Imperial by Roger & Gallet (I think the latter is no longer made). On 20 October 1794, Senator Gottfried von Gall noted in his diary that the numbering and the written documentation of the houses which started eight days earlier was being continued. [3]

Gorgeous old time barber shop vibes, fresh citrus that feel wonderful to splash on after a shower. After around half an hour, on my skin it develops some skanky note (the good type) that feel familiar to fragrances with civet notes, like Civet from Zoologist. Overall it's a great fresh complement to a morning routine, I could even use it as after shave I think. I've seen a lot of people compare this to Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford but to me, they are perfumes from completely different calipers. neroli Portofino is sexy and very well blended. a summer perfume I would wear any day on a hot sunny morning/afternoon but the 4711 is blended in a very linear way to my nose. It's not a sexy perfume but still putting some on after a shower would feel very nice and refreshing. I think that all sunscreen manufacturers have taken inspiration from this formulation. This stuff seriously just smells like sunscreen to me. But a good, high-quality sunscreen. Yes it's weak, no it doesn't last and yes I really wish it did. But that's the beauty of it I guess. Sabetay, Sébastien (1960). Les Eaux de Cologne Parfumée. Sta. Maria Maggiore Symposium (in French).

I also kind of like that it’s longevity is nonexistent; that means that you can spray it 15 times on your body, experiencing 20 seconds of pure bliss and then smelling it fade away in the following 20 minutes. I do realize that I might have a TOTALLY different perspective on 4711, and ALL citrus/strong/clean scents, if it were not for this association, I may like even ONE of this fragrance type....sorry to all lovers.....

The original Eau de Cologne is a spirit-citrus perfume launched in Cologne in 1709 by Giovanni Maria Farina (1685–1766), an Italian perfume maker from Santa Maria Maggiore, Valle Vigezzo. In 1708, Farina wrote to his brother Jean Baptiste: "I have found a fragrance that reminds me of an Italian spring morning, of mountain daffodils and orange blossoms after the rain". [3] He named his fragrance Eau de Cologne, in honour of his new hometown. [4] I know 4711 was lauched before, but many perfume reviewers stress that JMF's is the first EDC just because it was...officially registrated in Cologne, Germany. I also spray it on my hands and inhale as indicated on the box and it's a just a simple luxurious treat! I feel more positive and energized and inspired. Original Eau de Cologne, launched in 1792, is apparently the cologne of all colognes - it's the one that started it all. Wow. I do not have anything to say that was not already said. This is a classic that will be forever applicable to any time, any place, any age. You just need to realize that it is not a cologne meant for others; it is a 'me' cologne that is meant for you to enjoy.
