Time to wrap up the MinisForum HX99G review with my thoughts. Straight off the bat I have to say this is a very impressive gaming mini PC! While it is a little larger than your usual mini PC, it’s nowhere near the size of the larger NUCX models which are its main competitors. A gaming mini PC should have a small form factor and the MinisForum HX99G fits into this category just fine. But the upgrade option we genuinely liked was a completely unoccupied M.2 2280 slot, allowing an easy means to clone the existing 512GB storage to another M.2 device or add additional internal storage. Each piece of hardware has passed a strict quality inspection and met the factory's standards before it is delivered to Minisforum. In addition, there is no difference in the warranty policies of these hardware suppliers.
Connection Equipment
The MinisForum HX99G is designed with productivity in mind. It offers a range of ports and buttons strategically placed for easy access and convenience. During the synthetic performance comparison, our test unit places only in the lower middle of the comparison field. At 4K we can see the HX99G mini PC for gaming in third place with the NUCXi5 and i7 taking the lead.
When discussing the synthetic benchmarks, we already mentioned the option to connect an external graphics card via Thunderbolt. But in the pure gaming tests, the configuration using the Razer Core X and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Tiis unable to deliver a convincing performance. Unfortunately, the limited bandwidth of the external PCI Express connection is demanding its due. ymdhisIf one of these things came with more decent networking (1GbE + 10GbE), it would probably be my next main PC. This and cool them with a proper exchangeable 120mm fan for low noise. This gives us some data which we can use to see the overall performance and also compare to other gaming mini PC’s. PassMark And at 720P we can see that while the HX99G Ryzen mini PC remains in second place, there is only a few frames per second difference between it and the NUCXi7. Gaming Benchmarks Summary The elaborate carbon fibre adorned enclosure can either lay flat on two rubber strips on the underside or be placed vertically on an included wedge-shaped foot. Sadly, this machine is too big to be VESA mounted.
Storage Solution
With the RX 6600M GPU, the HX77G has the potential to double the performance of the best systems with an integrated GPU. That GPU is well-suited to work with a CPU like the AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, a highly efficient design that exploits its Zen3+ architecture and TSMC 6nm FinFET fabrication. All this comes together in an expanded enclosure, allowing for relatively easy upgrades and plentiful external ports, making the HX77G a highly flexible solution.
