Heralding the 37th edition of the world renowned vintage release, Brian Nation - in his final days as Master Distiller, continued the long-standing tradition of hand-selecting whiskeys reserved for this covete. During this time, Barry was learning his trade from his father, Max Crockett, the ‘forefather’ of modern-day Irish whiskey. Layers of honeycomb and roasted hazelnut unfurl, culminating in the robust scent of fresh coffee beans.

The gentle oak tannins enhance flavours of honeycomb dipped in chocolate and creamy vanilla, offering a velvety texture typical of Midleton’s pot still and grain whiskeys. Whilst some wines on our list may have damage to the capsule, Hatton and Edwards will never sell an item which cannot be confirmed as fully sealed. A symphony of oak-imbued aromas dance alongside delightful fruit hints: simmered pears, glazed apples, and zesty oranges. Palate – Luscious at first with succulent fruits and a distinctive creaminess along with a herbal quality akin to camomile tea.

Created in 1984, and released annualy since then this renowned whiskey is a bottling of hand selected whiskeys from the Midleton Distillery and represents some of the finest distillates produced at this famous location. In the 1980s, the Very Rare range was released to huge acclaim, and in 2020 the distillery has been brought back to life through the Silent Distillery Collection.
