Glenfarclas is a classic Speyside with notes of sweet fruit and spice and a touch of peat in the older bottlings. There it combines with the finest malted barley to provide a mash which is then twice distilled in traditional, direct fired, copper pot stills – the largest in Speyside. Glenfarclas can trace its history back to 1836, when tenant farmer Robert Hay founded the distillery on the Rechlerich Farm, on the Ballindalloch Estate in Banffshire.

The whisky follows the distillery's signature style of solely Oloroso sherry cask maturation, but achieves a drier, spicier and altogether more robust profile through the use of only Eupoean Oak (Quercus Robur).
